A one-of-a-kind wallet handcrafted from the original pages of a 1995 Australian touring guide.

Go off the beaten track with this slimline wallet, made from pages of BP Explore Australia — The Complete Touring Companion, 1995 Edition, from the Northern Territory — Outback Australia chapter.

The wallet covers a vast area of the northern region of this beautiful part of Austalia-- spanning the Timor Sea, Beagle Gulf, Melville Island, Bathurst Island, Tiwi Aboriginal Land Trust, Van Diemen Gulf, and Coburg Peninsula.

The back of the wallet takes in the Arnhem Highway, Kakadu National Park, Kakadu Holiday Village, Jabiru, Daly River, Port Keats, Joseph Bonaparte Gulf, Batchelor, Pine Creek, Edith Falls, Nitmiluk National Park, and Katherine. The outer flap covers the Western Australia/NT border country of Yambarran Range, Timber Creek, Victoria River, Gregory National Park, Wyndham, Kununurra, and Pinkerton Range along Highway 1.

The inside lining shows the chapter title page: Northern Territory — Outback Australia, with the magnetic clasp sitting neatly at the centre.

I love to collect vintage and retro books, magazines and other special documents such as sheet music and street directories to create a unique collection of wallets.

When designing a wallet, I select and cut out the pages (one for the outside and one for the lining) and cover them with clear PVC to have a waterproof protection.

From there I carefully stitch together the pages and fold them over to create your wallet, adding a Lyssy May label in the process to ensure its handmade story is shared.
