Vintage Garden Book Compact Wallet - Chrysanthemum

This handcrafted compact size slimline wallet is made from the carefully selected original pages of a 1981 printing of the Australian Women's Weekly Gardening Book. The page selected for this design features 3 varieties of chrysanthemums - Power Puff, Golden Splendour and October Rose. The text provides some tips on staking garden plants.

It has been lined with a piece of wallpaper sample in a textured art deco style fan pattern in white and grey.

The pages have been covered with clear pvc to protect the paper, folded and stitched together to create a true limited edition and collectable!

This smaller sized wallet can be used for cash, cards, blister pack medications, or anything else you'd like to keep protected in your bag. It will be the perfect gift for someone who loves to garden or collect anything retro. 

The wallet is approximately 13 cm wide by 10.5 cm high. It closes with a magnetic clasp.

Ultimately the paper may crease a little with wear, adding to its life story.

I love to collect vintage and retro books, magazines and other special documents such as sheet music and street directories to create a unique collection of wallets.

When designing a wallet, I select and cut out the pages (one for the outside and one for the lining) and cover them with clear PVC to have a waterproof protection.

From there I carefully stitch together the pages to create your wallet, adding a Lyssy May label in the process to ensure its handmade story is shared.
