Vintage Garden Book Wallet - Cyclamen and African Violet

This handcrafted slimline wallet is made from the carefully selected original pages of a 1981 printing of the Australian Women's Weekly Gardening Book. The page selected for this design shows a greenhouse setting backed with beautiful pots of cyclamen in shades of pink and white and also features a close up of an African Violet.

It has been lined with a piece of vintage floral and striped wallpaper in greens, blue, and taupe.

The pages have been covered with clear pvc to protect the paper, folded and stitched together to create a true limited edition and collectable!

This wallet is a great little accessory to use for cash, cards, blister pack medications, or anything else you'd like to keep protected in your bag. It will be the perfect gift for someone who loves to garden or collect anything retro. You could even use it to keep the tags that come with plants with the care instructions or save the cards that come with floral bouquet deliveries.

The wallet is approximately 20 cm wide by 10 cm high. It closes with a magnetic clasp.

Ultimately the paper may crease a little with wear, adding to its life story.

I love to collect vintage and retro books, magazines and other special documents such as sheet music and street directories to create a unique collection of wallets.

When designing a wallet, I select and cut out the pages (one for the outside and one for the lining) and cover them with clear PVC to have a waterproof protection.

From there I carefully stitch together the pages to create your wallet, adding a Lyssy May label in the process to ensure its handmade story is shared.
