Retro Recipe Wallet - Fruit Desserts

$3500 AUD

Description

This handcrafted slimline wallet is made from the carefully selected original pages of a 1970's Entertainer's Cook Book.

If only these dessert ideas were handy when your mum used to tell you to have a piece of fruit when you were hungry! This design features an outside image that is 'All about fruit and ice desserts' against a green gingham tablecloth. The inside is lined the picture of watermelon slices and the tip that 'fresh fruit can be used in many delicious desserts and goes especially well with spirits and liqueurs...'.

The pages have been stitched together and covered with plastic to protect the paper and is a true limited edition and collectable!

It is a great little accessory to use for travel documents, smart phones, medications or anything else you'd like to keep protected in your bag. It will be the perfect gift for someone who loves to cook, eat or collect anything retro and would even look great displayed on the kitchen bench as a place to keep recipe cuttings.

The wallet is approximately 20 cm wide by 11 cm high. It closes with magnetic clasps.

Ultimately the paper will crease a little with wear, adding to its life story.

Designed and sewn in Queensland, Australia.

Creative Process

No two designs are the same!

I love to collect vintage and retro books, magazines and other special documents such as sheet music and street directories to create a unique collection of wallets.

When designing a wallet, I select and cut out the pages (one for the outside and one for the lining) and cover them with clear PVC to have a waterproof protection.

From there I carefully stitch together the pages to create your wallet, adding a Lyssy May label in the process to ensure its handmade story is shared.
