Description
Description
Where are you heading? This handmade wallet is crafted from the original pages of the 1995 BP Explore Australia: The Complete Touring Companion - a classic from the era before GPS and smartphones.
This wallet features a detailed street map of Canberra & Northern Suburbs, spanning the ACT's outer suburbs and the NSW border.
The front showcases the western suburbs of Weston Creek, Holder, Stirling, Woden, and Phillip, with Curtin, Hughes, Garran, and Narrabundah to the east. The back reveals the same sweeping map view, with Belconnen, Macquarie, Bruce, Aranda, and Cook to the west, and Downer, Watson, Dickson, Ainslie, and Braddon to the east.
Open it up and you'll find the inner pocket with the headline of Canberra & Northern Suburbs, showing Hall, Charnwood, Fraser, Spence, Evatt, Melba, Flynn, and Palmerston, with the NSW/ACT border clearly marked.
It is lined with a travel guide entry describing Lake Burley Griffin, the Carillon, the Captain Cook Memorial water jet, and the Canberra Railway Museum, home to Australia's oldest working steam locomotive (built 1878).
A practical and stylish travel accessory, it's perfectly sized for cash, cards, a passport, and travel documents.
Whether you grew up in Belconnen, worked in Woden, or love exploring Australia's capital, this wallet carries a story no mass-produced accessory ever could.

Creative Process
Creative Process
No two designs are the same!
I love to collect vintage and retro books, magazines and other special documents such as sheet music and street directories to create a unique collection of wallets.
When designing a wallet, I select and cut out the pages (one for the outside and one for the lining) and cover them with clear PVC to have a waterproof protection.
From there I carefully stitch together the pages and fold them over to create your wallet, adding a Lyssy May label in the process to ensure its handmade story is shared.
