Where are you heading? This handmade wallet is crafted from the original pages of the 1995 BP Explore Australia: The Complete Touring Companion - a classic from the era before GPS and smartphones.

This wallet features a detailed street map of Central Canberra, Australia's carefully planned capital city.

The front showcases the inner suburbs of Deakin, Forrest, Kingston, and Acton, with the city centre and Reid visible below. The back reveals the sweeping blue expanse of Lake Burley Griffin, with Yarralumla, Parkes, Russell, and Campbell spread around its shores.

Open it up and you'll find the inner pocket features the full Central Canberra street map, complete with a comprehensive index of accommodation, places of interest, and general information - from Parliament House to the Australian War Memorial.

It is lined with a page that has an image of the 'Telstra tower'.

I love to collect vintage and retro books, magazines and other special documents such as sheet music and street directories to create a unique collection of wallets.

When designing a wallet, I select and cut out the pages (one for the outside and one for the lining) and cover them with clear PVC to have a waterproof protection.

From there I carefully stitch together the pages and fold them over to create your wallet, adding a Lyssy May label in the process to ensure its handmade story is shared.
