Recycled Street Map Wallet - Oxley, Inala, Durack, Darra, Fig Tree Pocket

Where are you headed?

This handcrafted slimline wallet is made from the original pages of a Brisbane and Greater Region UBD street directory published between 2000 and 2009. The pages have been covered in clear PVC, folded and machine sewn to protect the paper. A true limited edition collectable.

This wallet features the inner south-western Brisbane suburbs across both sides — the flap shows Fig Tree Pocket 4069 and the Brisbane River (map 198, joins 178) with the Queensland Arboretum area and Corinda. The body shows Inala 4077, Richlands 4077, and Durack 4077 (joins 218) including Oxley Golf Club, Ipswich Motorway, Freeman Rd, and Boundary Rd. The back shows Seventeen Mile Rocks 4073, Oxley 4075, Darra 4076, and Rocklea 4106 including Canossa Village, Canossa Private Hospital, Oxley Golf Range, Corinda Golf Course, Ipswich Road, and Oxley Railway.

The inside is lined with a UBD street index page (please note: the index page lining and any advertisements shown may vary between individual wallets depending on the edition used).

I love to collect vintage and retro books, magazines and other special documents such as sheet music and street directories to create a unique collection of wallets.

When designing a wallet, I select and cut out the pages (one for the outside and one for the lining) and cover them with clear PVC to have a waterproof protection.

From there I carefully stitch together the pages and fold them over to create your wallet, adding a Lyssy May label in the process to ensure its handmade story is shared.
