Retro Recipe Wallet - Sweets and Candies

This handcrafted slimline wallet is made from carefully selected original pages of a 1970s Encyclopedia of Creative Cooking. This design features the 'Sweets and Candies' chapter - a step-by-step photographic guide to making satin candies and confectionery, complete with vintage-style recipe text, numbered instructional images, and a retro floral-aproned cook at work. It is lined with a coordinating page from the same recipe book.

Covered with PVC to protect the paper, this is a true limited edition and collectable and no two wallets are identical.

Measuring approximately 18.5 cm wide by 9.5 cm high, it closes with a magnetic clasp and is roomy enough to hold travel documents, an Australian passport, a smartphone, cards, medications, or anything else you'd like to keep safe in your bag.

It makes a wonderful gift for anyone who loves to cook, bake, collect retro kitchenalia, or simply appreciates something beautifully unique. It would even look gorgeous displayed on the kitchen bench as a place to keep recipe cuttings.

I love to collect vintage and retro books, magazines and other special documents such as sheet music and street directories to create a unique collection of wallets.

When designing a wallet, I select and cut out the pages (one for the outside and one for the lining) and cover them with clear PVC to have a waterproof protection.

From there I carefully stitch together the pages and fold them over to create your wallet, adding a Lyssy May label in the process to ensure its handmade story is shared.
